Los Angeles Farmers Markets Ongoing

Brew at the Zoo Aug. 2
Sample craft beers, ciders, wines and grab a snack, while attending zoo keepers talks and visiting the animal stations. Attendees are encouraged to purchase tickets online to guarantee a spot.

Jackalope Summer Nights Aug. 2-3
This nighttime market features more than 200 craftsmen who will showcase their handmade pieces to attendees. Food trucks, games, and a beer garden are also included with the festivities. The event is located in Old Pasadena’s Central Park and is FREE to attend.

Downtown Burbank Car Classic Aug. 3
The Burbank Car Classic is a summer event you won’t want to miss. Gather your friends and head to San Fernando Blvd. to check out celebrity vehicles, classic cars, and auto vendors, in the SoCal sunshine.

Long Beach Vegan Festival Aug. 3
Buy vegan food (containing no animal products), hear live music, see art installations, and shop from “earth-friendly” vendors at the Long Beach Vegan Festival on the lawn at The Pike Outlets.

Midsummer Scream Aug. 3-4
Enter if you dare and celebrate Halloween in July at the Midsummer Scream Festival in Long Beach. The ghoulish attractions include 76,000 square feet of entertainment, ghosts, vendors, and the famous Hall of Shadows.

Wekfest Los Angeles 2019 Aug. 4
Nicknamed as the “dopest car show in America,” Wekfest is the premier auto show for car enthusiasts. The event is designed around highlighting car builders who rise above the standards, those who support authenticity and attention to detail. For spectators of the event, you will experience a gathering where community takes center stage and absorb valuable content for your very own automotive journey.

Long Beach Jazz Festival Aug. 9-11
Sit back and listen to top jazz performers at the Long Beach Jazz Festival in beautiful Rainbow Lagoon Park.

Los Angeles Tea Festival Aug. 10-11
Come sip on top quality tea and engage in in-depth discussions and presentations on teas from every region. Try unique tea pairings, craft tea-infused cocktails, and boba while enjoying colorful performances and activities. This is an event for the whole family to enjoy!

Model Train Show Aug. 10-11
The Great Train Show features model train layouts and hundreds of vendors, with bounce houses and a riding train for the kids at the Fairplex. Children age 11 and younger are FREE!

Echo Park Rising Aug. 15-18
Echo Park Rising is a neighborhood event in it’s 9th year that focuses on the music, creativity, diversity and small businesses of Echo Park. There are multiple stages and activities throughout the weekend located on the main routes of Sunset Blvd., Glendale Blvd., Alvarado Avenue, Echo Park Avenue and beyond. The event is FREE at all participating venues and you do NOT need tickets to attend.

Manhattan Beach Open Aug. 16-18
Also known as the “Superbowl of Beach Volleyball,” the Manhattan Beach Open is a four-day tournament and the last of the California volleyball tournaments. Winners of the Manhattan Beach Open will receive an invitation to compete in the AVP Hawaii tournament. General Admission is FREE! More information can be found here:

LA Taco Festival Aug. 17
L.A. Taco & Beer Festival features unlimited tastes of craft beer and tacos, DJ music, additional food for sale, and art vendors at Los Angeles Center Studios for age 21+

2019 Taste of Brews Long Beach Aug. 24
In its eighth year, the Taste of Brews will feature craft beer, hard cider, and food from dozens of California establishments. Tickets are available online and at the gates. More information can be found at

Free National Park Day Aug. 25
Admission is free at national parks on Free Entrance Days in the National Parks (including Death Valley, Joshua Tree, Yosemite, Sequoia & Kings Canyon). Expect more people and less parking than usual.

End of Summer Celebration Aug. 28
The gardens stay open extra late for the End of Summer Celebration. Grab a cold drink and relax to the tunes of the The Flashdance DJs, wander through the gardens to the sounds of live music. LA Fleet Week Aug. 30- Sept. 2
LA Fleet Week is an annual, multi-day celebration of our nation’s Sea Services over the Labor Day Weekend. Free to the public, the multi-day event attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors to the LA Waterfront in San Pedro. Visitors enjoy public ship tours, military displays and equipment demonstrations, a kids’ STEM Expo, aircraft fly overs, live entertainment, the 10th Annual Conquer the Bridge Labor Day morning 5.3-mile walk/run over the iconic Vincent Thomas Bridge, the Galley Wars culinary competition between military branches, and all-around fun for the entire family.

Los Angeles County Fair Aug. 30- Sept. 22
All of your fair favorites are returning to the Los Angeles County Fair. Carnival rides, games, farm animals, food, shopping, exhibits, concerts, and more! Children under five are always FREE.
